At Tabby, we want shoppers to have the best possible experience. To achieve this, all merchants are required to follow our marketplace listing policy when submitting product feeds. This policy explains:
  1. What product categories are accepted
  2. Which products are restricted or prohibited
  3. How compliance is monitored and enforced
  4. The content and quality standards for product listings

Accepted Product Categories

We accept product listings in the following high-level categories:
  • Fashion (clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery)
  • Fashion accessories (belts, scarves, hats, wallets, watches, eyewear)
  • Beauty & Health (fragrances, skincare, makeup, hair care, wellbeing, bath & body)
  • Electronics (mobiles, tablets, audio, TVs, wearables, computers, gaming, cameras)
  • Appliances (large & small kitchen appliances, personal care, home appliances)
  • Home & Living (furniture, home décor, kitchen & dining garden, stationery)
  • Hardware equipment (fixtures, paint, plumbing, tools, fasteners)
  • Baby & Toys (feeding, baby gear, toys & games, arts & crafts)
  • Fitness & Outdoors (training, yoga, camping, bikes, water sports, golf, sports equipment)
  • Gifting & Celebrations (flowers, plants, party supplies, gifts)
  • Automotive (car parts, motorcycle parts, tools & maintenance, accessories)
  • Books (literature, magazines, newspaper, journals)

Restricted and Prohibited Category Types

For safety, cultural, and legal reasons, certain product types are not allowed on Tabby.

Prohibited Categories

  • Alcohol - Not listed or sold under any circumstances
  • Pork & pork products - Not permissible in Islamic countries
  • Perishable goods - (e.g milk, eggs, bread, fresh produce) - Items requiring real-time inventory, expiry info, or local delivery support
  • Unregulated health products - Non-certified or misleading medical claims
  • Prescription-only medications. - It is illegal to purchase them without a valid, locally issued prescription from a licensed healthcare provider, this includes - GLP-1 weight-loss medications e.g Mounjaro & Ozempic
  • Narcotics & controlled substances - Illegal or restricted by law.
  • Pornographic materials & sex-related items - Includes books, toys, or media with sexual content. Total ban with severe legal consequences.
  • Offensive or religiously sensitive content - Must respect Islamic and cultural norms.
  • Smoking substances & tools - (Including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes) - Tobacco-containing products, smoking mixtures, electronic cigarettes, vapes & nicotine-containing products
  • Weapons & ammunition - Requires government approval, otherwise banned.
  • Animals - Live animals of any kind.
  • Human trafficking & related content - Total ban with severe legal consequences.
  • Other items restricted by Tabby moderation team discretion - Unless explicitly whitelisted for campaigns.

  • Musical instruments & music lessons - Not permissible under local shariah regulations.

Compliance and Enforcement

All merchant feeds are reviewed by Tabby before going live.
  • Non-compliant listings may be rejected or removed.
  • Repeated violations may lead to suspension of feed integrations.
  • In serious cases, Tabby reserves the right to suspend or terminate merchant services if:
    • The merchant is in breach of applicable law.
    • The merchant’s activities risk harming Tabby’s reputation, integrity, or goodwill.
  • Complaints from third parties (e.g., trademark or copyright owners): If another business submits a valid complaint regarding intellectual property infringement, the affected listings may be taken down while Tabby investigates. Repeated or unresolved infringements may result in suspension or termination of services.

Content and Listing Guidelines

To ensure your products are approved and displayed correctly, please follow these content standards. Listings may be declined if they do not meet these requirements:
  • High-quality product images - Must be clear and professional. Avoid blurry, stretched, or pixelated photos.
  • No overlays on images - Product photos cannot contain text, logos, watermarks, promo banners, or pricing labels.
  • No placeholder or stock images - Use the actual product photo, not “coming soon” or unrelated visuals.
  • Correct formatting - Avoid broken HTML, unsupported symbols, emojis, or unnecessary special characters.
  • Correct attributes - Ensure gender, size, and colour attributes match the actual product.
  • Accurate product details - Titles and descriptions must match the product and not include false claims or incorrect information.
  • Locale-appropriate language - Product titles and descriptions should be in the correct language for the market (e.g. Arabic for Arabic listings).
  • Valid product URLs - Links must be active and lead directly to the product detail page.
  • Compliance with local laws and cultural sensitivities - Content must respect Islamic and cultural norms in Tabby’s operating regions.
  • VAT pricing - Include VAT price attribute to ensure no price mis-matches.
